• Particle board and commercial ply: Used by budget vendors across Chennai. Particle board swells irreversibly when moisture penetrates the laminate edges. Commercial ply (without BWR or BWP grading) delaminates within 3–5 years in humid kitchens. Do not accept these materials for cabinet carcasses regardless of how it's described or how cheap the quote.
